In this rapidly evolving world, website development becomes a crucial part of business development. Connection with your audience is crucial to maintaining your business and this cannot be done without a smooth and stable hosting connection. Hence, every business needs a good hosting service provider who can make your site visible 24/7.

Among so many web hosting services, it can be hard to find a trusted one. GoDaddy is one of the most trusted names in the field of web hosting.

Here we have reviewed the GoDaddy platform and it’s working with asp.net.

What is GoDaddy?

GoDaddy is one of the most renowned and large platforms in the long list of the best web hosting providers. This web hosting service focuses mainly on different domain name services, but one of the most popular uses of this platform is ASP.NET hosting.

GoDaddy takes on an “all-included” approach, offering windows hosting services on shared servers.

It offers several types of hosting for Windows and Linux platforms, gathering over 13 million customers from all over the globe.

GoDaddy asp.net hosting review features

GoDaddy offers plenty of features with the Windows hosting plan. GoDaddy offers three main plans, all of which have a free domain, unmetered bandwidth, and office 365 email free for a year. The technical features, however, do vary.

The most inexpensive plan covers 10 MySQL databases, each having 1GB storage. With the most expensive plan, it heightens to an unlimited number. If you take a start with the MSSQL database plan, it offers 200Mb storage for each with the cheapest plan and this can then be upgraded to an unlimited number.

With GoDaddy, you get only a free SSL certificate with the most expensive plan, and that too, only for a year. After that, you will have to sort your SSL security yourself with other plans. Alternatively, other ASP.Net hosting providers do offer free SSL with all their plans.

  • GoDaddy uses Windows® Server 2012 R2 OS, a reliable version, even though old.
  • DDOs protection and 24/7 security monitoring
  • Easy management with Plesk control
  • Supports ASP.NET MVC3, AJAX, Classic ASP, CGI, NET core.

The features show that GoDaddy ASP.NET hosting is well-equipped, and can work pretty well for personal use.

GoDaddy ASP.NET hosting pricing and plans

GoDaddy presents three different plans for ASP.NET hosting plans that include Economy, Deluxe, and Ultimate. If you are just starting with web hosting, or are planning on hosting a single website, you can go with the economy and starter plans.

However, if you plan to host an unlimited number of websites under one web hosting package, the Ultimate and Deluxe plans are a great option. While all GoDaddy plans are unique, we suggest the economy plan for visitors because it can be set with the domain you want at a low cost.

Talking about GoDaddy ASP.NET hosting, there are technically three plans as the starter plan does not apply to this because of the lack of an MS SQL database. GoDaddy ASP.NET hosting supports ASP.NET versions 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5.

GoDaddy Windows hosting plans

All of the windows hosting plans offered by GoDaddy offer the following features.

  1. 70 free applications
  2. Parallels Plesk control panel
  3. DDoS protection and 24/7 security monitoring
  4. 24/7 technical support
  5. 99% uptime
  6. Starter; 10 free email accounts, Economy; 100 free email accounts, Deluxe; 500 free email accounts, and Ultimate plan; 1000 free email accounts.
  7. Economy plan; 1 free MS SQL database, Deluxe plan; 2 free MS SQL databases, Ultimate plan; unlimited databases.

GoDaddy: The security

GoDaddy supports SSL security with the most expensive plan. With the less expensive plans, you can either enjoy a free Let’s Encrypt SSL, get the premium GoDaddy certificate, or add on a standard SSL certificate. GoDaddy offers a full 24/7 security system and DDoS protection for every plan, regardless of the plan you choose, thereby offering enough security to keep your mind at ease. If you need any extra protection, you may choose the Website Backup at $2.99 per month.

This offers a basic level of security, and offers auto daily backups, security monitoring, and malware scanning on a daily.

Customer support service of GoDaddy

GoDaddy web hosting services offer customer support through several platforms like trouble tickets, telephone, and forums. You can easily contact their support services 24/7. Nevertheless, people have had average reviews about the customer support of GoDaddy web hosting services.

GoDaddy: The pros & cons

Pros

  • Great introductory discounts
  • Data Centers in multiple regions
  • Largest Domain Name Registrar at Godaddy

Cons

  • Support team has no good knowledge when it comes to ASP.net
  • Multiple essential features are paid addons
  • You can expect slow performance with Godaddy’s servers

Our final verdict

Finding a reliable ASP.NET hosting provider that meets all your needs can often be a very daunting task. Among the multiple hosting providers out there, GoDaddy has been the choice of many today.

However, based on the experience of multiple users with GoDaddy web hosting services, we can assure you that this platform is not suitable for your ASP.NET projects. Due to their lack of support and unreliable server performances.

You can save your money in the long term by buying HostGator hosting services monthly. So, yes, we can assure you that Hostgator Windows hosting is a great hosting service for ASP.NET applications and websites. If you are a starter, HostGator is a great choice for you!

  1. Don’t waste your money! I’ve been with them for over 2 years, spent way too much money. My website and email doesn’t work together as they should. Customer service is some 3rd world country that doesn’t speak English and will try to sell you a new domain or charge you $200 to get your domain back working. Just save your money and go to Asphostportal for asp.net hosting! They are far better than this SHIT provider!

    • I appreciate your valuable feedback Dwayne.

You summarized it quite well, “Customer support”, “Too many paid addons”, and “Aggressive Upselling” since their support is getting commissions out of that, those are some of the most common issues that users complain about.

We had our fair share of that aswell, that is why we recommended something relatively close in their discounting price range like HostGator.
